Motorcycle Training Guides

There are hundreds of motorcycle training guides and how-to’s that can teach you how to ride a motorcycle.  These guides are inherently limited by the fact that to truly get a feel for how to ride a motorcycle you need to sit on one and take it for a spin.  Of course, if you have absolutely no idea how to ride one at all that’s a very risky proposition (no one wants to be this guy).

Motorcycle training guides are probably your best option in terms of mentally preparing yourself before actually riding a motorcycle.

Our Motorcycle Training Guide Reviews

From time to time we review motorcycle training guides.  We are very critical of these guides as we feel that it’s very important that a new motorcycle rider gets accurate, realistic information about what they are doing and how to properly do it.  After all, a safe motorcycle rider is a living motorcycle rider!

This list will expand as we review more motorcycle training books/guides.

  • Get Ready to Pass - We conducted a comprehensive review of “Get Ready to Pass” on July 23, 2009 and were very impressed with it overall.  The training videos were a welcome touch and offer a great visual lesson to those who are not able to accurately grasp concepts by reading.  A price of $30 is more than reasonable considering the attention to detail that was given to the whole package.  This is our preferred motorcycle training guide.
  • MotoLearn - We conducted a comprehensive review of MotoLearn on July 1, 2009 and were impressed with it overall.  It is an eBook that is quickly skimmed and read, making finding specific information quite simple.  All aspects of riding a motorcycle, from finding the right bike to what to do in the event of an accident, are covered.  A price of $16.50 makes this motorcycle training guide a great value.
  • VRides – We conducted a comprehensive review of VRides on August 4, 2009 and were impressed with it overall.  The training videos, despite not being high-budget, give a good impression of how to perform various operations when learning to ride a motorcycle.  As well, a price of $10 is as budget as budget gets and VRides is certainly worth it.  However, Get Ready to Pass remains our preferred motorcycle training guide.
